As a key member of the leadership team, the Head of People leads employee experience, recruiting, learning and development, employment compliance, and performance management responsibilities across Osano. Osano is looking for a strong hands-on leader with a proven track record supporting the scaling of an early stage technology startup growing rapidly.
This person will be passionate about understanding our employees’ needs and creating solutions that maximize their performance at Osano. The leader is expected to be a team player that lives Osano's cultural values, sets an example for others, and puts systems in place to constantly enhance the culture. Recruiting: At the core of your role is making sure we have the best resources on our team. This means you’ll own the recruiting function and work with our team and consultants to identify, recruit, and onboard the best talent for Osano.
Data and Compliance: Improve the collection and use of people-related data to aid in better decision making; develop key metrics to measure employee happiness, performance, engagement and retention; ensure compliance with all equal employment opportunity laws, employment, benefits, payroll and wage-hour laws across the dozens of states where Osano employees live and work.
Connection Building: Form and lead the team events committee to own the planning, organization, and execution of team events to ensure that our remote work approach does not eliminate human connection and team building. Own the planning, execution, and attendance of ongoing virtual team activities.
10+ years direct Human Resources experience, with 5+ years leading HR teams in high-growth companies, and at least 2 years at the executive level
The proven ability to influence and drive change with executive teams and across startup organizations, aligning the people strategy with business goals and growth
Proven success in delivering high-impact people operations programs around performance management, culture, employee engagement and retention
Experience performing cultural due-diligence for M&A targets as well as proven integration of acquired businesses.
A track record of being a People Ops business partner to executives across a variety of functional areas, and a demonstrated capability to interface and maintain effective relationships with all departments and staff
Experience owning compensation planning from start to finish
Expertise in coaching across the full spectrum of seniority
The ability to think strategically, but also focus on tactical and operational issues
Venture Capital or Private Equity-backed company financial leadership experience
