Osano is looking for an exceptional Head of People.  As a key member of the leadership team, the Head of People leads employee experience, recruiting, learning and development, employment compliance, and performance management responsibilities across Osano.  Osano is looking for a strong hands-on leader with a proven track record supporting the scaling of an early stage technology startup growing rapidly. 


This person will be passionate about understanding our employees’ needs and creating solutions that maximize their performance at Osano. The leader is expected to be a team player that lives Osano's cultural values, sets an example for others, and puts systems in place to constantly enhance the culture. They should also be able to execute tactically in player-coach mode as needed, as well as having the strong communication skills to inspire others in their role as a team builder and strategic visionary.

Duties

  • Vision and Strategy: Work with strategic stakeholders to collaboratively set and execute on the long-term vision for key people operation functions, consistently improving effectiveness and helping us achieve our overall business goals; drive future organizational design and change management initiatives to help maintain a high-performing, motivated, and impactful team.

  • Values and Culture: Help design and promote our company values and ensure that all decisions, programs, and processes are aligned with our core beliefs. Help us to scale the organization quickly while maintaining our amazing, empowering culture.

  • Performance Management, Rewards and Recognition: enhance our company-wide performance management program to help us identify high and low performers, promote and reward excellence, and drive continuous, transparent feedback across all disciplines

  • Professional Development: Build scalable professional development programs that aid in growing our team’s capabilities and drive employee retention

  • Management and Leadership Training: Drive scalable solutions around making our leaders better managers; provide coaching and feedback to our existing leadership team and develop programs that prepare high-potential employees for management roles

  • Compensation and Benefits: Analyze existing compensation packages and plan future comp across all functions; benchmark our current benefits package, and strategize for additional benefits to support our strategic goals as we scale

  • Recruiting: At the core of your role is making sure we have the best resources on our team.  This means you’ll own the recruiting function and work with our team and consultants to identify, recruit, and onboard the best talent for Osano. 

  • Data and Compliance: Improve the collection and use of people-related data to aid in better decision making; develop key metrics to measure employee happiness, performance, engagement and retention; ensure compliance with all equal employment opportunity laws, employment, benefits, payroll and wage-hour laws across the dozens of states where Osano employees live and work.

  • Connection Building: Form and lead the team events committee to own the planning, organization, and execution of team events to ensure that our remote work approach does not eliminate human connection and team building. Own the planning, execution, and attendance of ongoing virtual team activities.


Requirements:


  • 10+ years direct Human Resources experience, with 5+ years leading HR teams in high-growth companies, and at least 2 years at the executive level

  • The proven ability to influence and drive change with executive teams and across startup organizations, aligning the people strategy with business goals and growth

  • Proven success in delivering high-impact people operations programs around performance management, culture, employee engagement and retention

  • Experience performing cultural due-diligence for M&A targets as well as proven integration of acquired businesses.  

  • A track record of being a People Ops business partner to executives across a variety of functional areas, and a demonstrated capability to interface and maintain effective relationships with all departments and staff

  • Experience owning compensation planning from start to finish

  • Expertise in coaching across the full spectrum of seniority

  • The ability to think strategically, but also focus on tactical and operational issues

  • Venture Capital or Private Equity-backed company financial leadership experience
